The Cyclones Make History

May 13, 2010

This will be a rather short post today due to the fact I am on the road to go visit some family. More or less I just wanted to congratulate the Cincinnati Cyclones on their amazing comeback in the ECHL American Conference Finals. The Cyclones made ECHL history by becoming the first team to ever come back from being down 3-0 in a playoff series. Their 1-0 win last night over the Reading Royals secured the team a spot in the Kelly Cup Finals where they will face the Idaho Steelheads.

I have always wanted to see a Cyclones game and I suppose this is the best time to attend my first. It’s always good to support the regional teams and Cincinnati is not that far of a drive from Indianapolis. The Cyclones won the 2008 title and I hope they add the 2010 Kelly Cup to their trophy collection. Any time a Midwestern team* can win a title, I’m pretty excited about it.

The Cyclones play games 3, 4, & 5 at home beginning with Tuesday’s 7:30 game. Game four will be on Thursday and, if necessary, game five will occur on Friday. If you haven’t had a chance to see them play or you have a desire to see one last live hockey game this season, I highly encourage you come out.

More information can be found at the Cyclones website. Go Cyclones! Midwestern hockey forever!

*- Notable exception being the Red Wings. I hope they always go 0-82 and win nothing.
