One-Timers (Jan. 10)

January 10, 2010

From hockey kids in Minnesota to proclaiming John Carlson as a deity, I’m pretty sure today’s batch of links cover everything.

This story comes via Puck Daddy and tries to explain one of the main superstitions I’ve heard about which is not stepping on the logo in the center of the locker room. [Tennessean]

Another link from a hockey site, but this time it’s from A Kick Save and A Beauty. Hockey Kid in Minnesota is the writings of a typical Minnesota teenage hockey player. One major thing that is different about him is the fact that he is gay. Sadly, he has to keep this a secret from pretty much everyone because if it gets out that he is a homosexual, it will hurt his chances at a D-I scholarship. [Hockey Kid in Minnesota]

I’ve posted links on this before, but the city of Fort Wayne likes to remind us that there will not be an outdoor game in the city. [Journal Gazette]

Apparently, John Carlson is our new God. [College Hockey Blog]

Five members of the Indiana Ice have been named to the USHL’s East Division All-Stars. [Indiana Ice]

Fort Wayne’s newest ice rink is almost finished. [WPTA-TV]

Finally I just wanted to include this because I wanted to share it. I have a group that meets for street hockey every Saturday and due to recent snowfall we had to shovel the tennis courts we play on. Here’s a picture that my friend Matt Aull took during the game.
