Haun to Begin Suspension Tonight

December 18, 2009

Fort Wayne Komets netminder Tim Haun will begin his seven game suspension tonight for his actions in last Saturday’s 2-0 loss to Port Huron. Late in the game, Haun swung his stick like a baseball bat at Ice Hawks player Derek Patrosso. Reports conflict as to if Haun actually landed his swing or not. The league ruled that these actions were intentional with an intent to injure.

While this is bad news for the Komets, they are saved by the fact that injured goalie Nick Boucher will be able to return this weekend to start three games. Haun had been Boucher’s replacement while he was out and played well, posting some of the best goaltending numbers in the league. His suspension will begin tonight and will extend through the Komets’ December 30th game against Dayton.
